Scenario

The Jackal is an elusive contract killer who makes his living committing murders for money. He soon meets a headstrong British intelligence officer who tracks him down in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe. The novel “The Jackal” is set in 1963 and is about the assassination attempt on then French President Charles de Gaulle.

Remake of The Jackal (1973)

I like it so far (5 episodes), despite some terrible decisions by the producers.1. This obsession with putting songs in movies/TV shows drives me nuts. The songs themselves are fine…as songs…but they completely ruin the scenes of the movie.

10 episodes is too many

The Jackal is a thriller and the last thing you want to hear is someone singing songs. Totally ridiculous.2. For example, the Bianca family scenario is nothing but filler.

That’s not the cast’s fault3

Many critics blame Lashana Lynch. The filmmakers should be blamed for inventing such a completely ridiculous character to hunt the jackal. There is no one out there who could play such an incredible character.

Normally I would have turned off after 20 minutes, but in this case the series is good enough to stick with. However, what could have been a 9/10 for me ends up being a maximum of a 6. A new season of “Silo” is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
